One Voice Huddersfield (formerly known as Huddersfield Young Singers) has been teaching enjoyment of singing to children in the local area since 2005. Today we have over 100 members in our 3 choirs. Our purpose is to build a great choir who enjoy singing, build relationships with each other, develop discipline in their performing and reach a standard of excellence.
The choir have performed for the Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations; at the Royal Albert Hall; and have been successful in various competitions over the years.
Meet Our Choir Conductors
James Lewis
James is the director of the Junior and Senior choirs. He has been a freelance choir director and vocal coach for over 20 years and frequently delivers choral workshops in the North West area. He has conducted many choirs at the Music for Youth National Finals and at the Royal Albert Hall. He also directed the Choir for the Closing Ceremony of the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
